A young University of Iowa men's basketball team has already shown that it is not afraid to step behind the arc and drain a long three-point field goal. The Hawkeyes sank 13 of 25 treys Thursday night to dominate The Citadel, 70-48, inside McAlister Field House.

Six members of the University of Iowa field hockey team were selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) West Region all-America team. First team honorees include seniors Caroline Blaum, Roz Ellis, Lissa Munley and Lauren Pfeiffer and junior Meghan Beamesderfer. Senior Katie Naughton was named to the second team.

Not only did they score more goals than the year before, but the Hawkeyes won the most matches since 2002 and qualified for the Big Ten Tournament for the second straight season.

Game time is 6:05 p.m. CT at McAlister Field House (6,000).Iowa opened the season with home wins over Charleston Southern (68-48) and Texas-San Antonio (73-67). The Citadel defeated Grace Bible College 81-72 at home and dropped an 82-59 decision at Virginia Commonwealth.
